Tiger carcass found in Lakhimpur

Carcass of a fully grown tiger has been recovered from Phardhan area in south Kheri forest division, a senior forest officer said here today.

"The carcass was spotted floating on the Sharda branch canal last evening near Jamnabad farm. However, it was recovered in Phardhan area," Divisional Forest Officer, South Kheri, Neeraj Kumar said.

No injury marks were visible and nails and jaw of the tiger were found intact. The carcass has been sent to India Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly, to ascertain the exact cause of the death, he said.
