An eight-month-old orphaned tiger cub has died of blood infection (septicemia) at Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) in Madhya Pradesh, an official said today.

The cub died three or four days ago, KTR Field Director J S Chauhan told PTI.

It had been brought to Kanha from Pench Tiger Reserve after the death of its mother recently. The cub had some injuries when it was brought from Pench which led to septicemia, Chauhan said.

Kanha Tiger Reserve is home to orphaned cubs and its officials have hand-reared many young big cats in the past.
