Tiger skins worth Rs 25 lakh seized in Nashik, one arrested

Acting on a tip-off, city police have arrested a 19-year-old youth and seized tiger skins worth Rs 25 lakh from him.

Omkar Rajendra Aher, resident of Kamod Nagar locality here, was arrested last night when he was trying to sell the skins, said assistant commissioner of police (crime) Sachin Gore in a press release today.

Sub-inspector Yogesh Ubale had received a tip-off that Aher was going to arrive at a spot near College Road to sell the contraband.

A case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, has been registered. Probe is on.
