A multi-layered security cover has been thrown around the venue of the meeting of Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers which commenced here today.

Adequate and fool-proof security have been provided to all foreign delegates, Gurgaon Joint Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Maheshwer Dayal told PTI.

Dayal, in-charge of the security at hotel Oberoi, the venue of the meet, said a Personal Security Officer (PSO) has been provided to every delegate in plain clothes.

Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the venue including at parking places and hotel's outer periphery.

A Joint Commissioner of Police is monitoring the traffic movement of the delegates, he said.

An exclusive lane on both sides at Gurgaon-Delhi toll plaza has been reserved for the movement of foreigners.

"Police have left no stone unturned to provide adequate and fool-proof security to the foreign delegates," Dayal said.

Thirty-five foreign ministers and representatives from 17 other nations began deliberations here, which will conclude tomorrow, focusing on political dialogue and economic collaboration.
