SSP Balkar Singh Sidhu today said CRPF personnel have been deployed in all the sensitive polling stations to avert any untoward incident.
Besides, 2 SPs, 10 DSPs, 82 Non-Gazetted Officers, 320 head constables, 765 constables, 461 SPOs and Home Guard jawans have been deployed in the constituency.
The bye-election was necessitated due to the death of BJP MLA Amarjit Singh Sahi recently. The party has give ticket to his widow Sukhjit Kaur. Others in the fray are Arun Dogra (Congress) and Bhupinder Singh Ghuman (PPP).
Counting of votes will take place on July 14.
