Tight security arrangements have been made with the deployment of more than 2,500 police personnel in the city in view of the Republic day celebrations on January 26.
The venue for the Republic Day parade, various government installations and places of worship had been put under tight security cover in the city, where serial bomb blasts claimed more than 50 lives in 1998, police said.
There would be round the clock vigil from tonight, with partol police team moving around and security checks at the vantage points, particularly at the entry points, besides keeping checks on lodge and guest houses, they said.
