Tight security for Ramnavami immersion

Tight security arrangement has been made in and around the steel city in view of the Ramnavami Akhara immersion ceremony here tomorrow, a senior police officer said.

About 20 sensitive areas have been identified in the city, where the East Singhbhum district administration was keeping vigil and police deployment made, said Senior Superintendent of Police, Anoop T Mathew said.

Besides district police force, personnel of the Rapid Action Force, Quick Response Team have been pressed into service to maintain law and order during the immersion ceremony, Mathew told a press conference.

The district administration also set up control room to ensure peaceful Ramnavami immersion, he said.
 

Meanwhile, a flag march led by Deputy Commissioner Dr Amitabh Kaushal and Mathew was staged across the city for the second day today to instill confidence among the people of the city, officials said.

The District Public Relation Officer, Urashi Pandey in a communique stated that the district administration and police have set up a Special Cyber cell for social media.

The cyber cell will keep watch on Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and initiate action against anyone posting messages that would disturb communal harmony.

Jharkhand Food Supply and Consumer Affair Minister, Saryu Roy instructed the East Singhbhum district administration to make adequate security arrangement in view of violence in Bokaro during the day.
