Tight stocks lifts gur prices

Gur prices rose upto Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today largely supported by tight stocks on restricted supplies from producing regions against pick up in demand.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a firm trend.

Marketmen said rising demand in the face of paucity of stocks on restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up gur prices.

At Delhi, gur pedi and shakkar rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,000-3,100 and Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal respectively.

At Muzzfarnagar, gur raskat and chakku also moved up to Rs 2,750-2,800 and Rs 2,400-2,600 from previous levels of Rs 2,700-2,750 and Rs 2,350-2,550 per quintal respectively.
 

In line with overall trend, gur pedi in Muradngar, too ended higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2,750-2,800 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,750-2,800, chakku Rs 2,400-2,600, khurpa Rs N.T. And Ladoo Rs NT.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and dhayya Rs NT.
