Mentha oil prices were up by 0.26 per cent to Rs 916.10 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions, triggered by tight supplies on restricted arrivals from producing regions at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 traded higher by Rs 2.40 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 916.10 per kg in business turnover of 19 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December contracts edged up by Rs 2 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 904.10 per kg in 153 lots.

Analysts said besides tight supplies in the spot markets from growing regions, improved demand from consuming industries mainly helped mentha oil prices to trade higher at futures trade.
