Tigress captured

After a month-long hunt,

forest officials today managed to tranquilise and capture a tigress which had killed one person and injured another in the district.

The team of experts from south Kheri forest department tranquilised and encaged the big cat, which was posing a threat to the area since February 19 in the villages of Bhira range.

The feline had preyed upon a number of domestic pets and had created a panic in the region.

District Forest Officer south Kheri Neeraj Kumar confirmed the trapping of the big cat. "The errant tigress is over two years old," he told PTI.
 

"The animal would be kept under watch and thereafter released at an appropriate place," Kumar said.
