Tigress dies in Odisha zoo

A 19-year-old Royal Bengal Tigress named 'Priyanka' died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Monday, forest officials said.

Born in captivity in the zoo on March 25, 2000, 'Priyanka' was unwell and under treatment for around two years.

With the death of 'Priyanka', the count of tigers in the zoo came down to 26, the officials said.

Earlier in 2018, a 10-year-old tiger had died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park.
