The carcass was spotted by a mahout, who was patrolling the area on an elephant yesterday, officials said.
A porcupine's carcass was also spotted lying beside that of the tigress, they said, adding that both the animals must have died a couple of days ago.
The officials suspect that there was a fight between the two animals, as suggested by the injury marks found on the carcase of the tigress.
These injury marks were caused due to the porcupine's pointed quills, they said.
After conducting the post-mortem, the body of the tiger was cremated in the presence of representatives of the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
