A ten-year-old tigress, popularly known as 'Queen of Pench', was spotted with four of her newly born cubs in the Pench Tiger Reserve near here, a senior official said here today.

"The tigress was spotted with her four new born cubs by ground duty staffers yesterday," Reserve Field Director Alok Kumar told PTI.

With this litter, the feline has begotten 22 cubs since 2008, he said.

Kumar said the cubs appeared to be 45 days old but their exact age was not known since the feline gave birth to them in a cave.

He said this was the sixth litter of the tigress, adding that earlier, she had given birth to 18 cubs between 2008 and 2013.

Meanwhile, the park management which is keeping a hawk's eye on the radio-collared tigress, ramped up security in the region where she has been moving.
