The left-handed Dhawan will miss initial matches of the Indian Premier League due to a hand injury, which also forced him to miss the fourth Test in Delhi.
"We have got some exciting young players who have an opportunity particularly with injury to Shikhar Dhawan to stand up and take their opportunity. We have seen over the past five editions of IPL, there is always been one or two players who surprise the competition... Players who are relatively unknown to the cricketing fraternity in India and also the world," Moody said.
