"I think it is time that politicians of my age retire from politics and now the youth must come forward and take over," 65 year old Singh said at a function held here yesterday to mark the conclusion of his son Jayawardan's second yatra.
However, he will contest the next Lok Sabha elections if the party gives him the ticket, he said, adding that there was no way in which he would contest the Assembly elections.
Singh said that his son, Jayawardan , however,would contest next year's Assembly elections only if he gets the ticket.
He alleged that the way in which corruption had spread all over Madhya Pradesh during the last eight years of BJP rule had not been dreamt of.
