Using strong words to condemn the resolution by Pakistan's Parliament on Afzal Guru, BJP today said the time has come to teach the neighbouring country a lesson but did not spell out what this entails.
"In a covert way, Pakistan has supported the Parliament attack by passing this resolution. Talks and terror cannot go together... The time has come to teach Pakistan a lesson which it understands," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters.
Asked to elaborate on what he meant by this, the Rajya Sabha MP said the lesson to be taught to Pakistan has to be spelt out by the Congress and the government should come out clearly on this.

He further maintained that any slackness on India's part in dealing with Pakistan or "even going strictly by the rule book" will not lead to that country learning its lessons.
He charged that the UPA government does not have an action plan.
"We need a foolproof plan. Pakistan can attack us at will but yet this government is treating each terror attack as an isolated incident," he said.
BJP also cautioned against another Sharm-el-Sheikh-like agreement with Pakistan or falling into its trap of internationalising the issue.
