Timely action by fire force personnel in dousing a blaze after a collision between an LPG cylinder-laden lorry and a kerosene tanker on a state highway today prevented a major mishap, police said.
The LPG tanker driver, who was injured, was hospitalised.
The collision on the Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur state highway resulted in kerosene spilling on the road from a crack in the tanker.

Fire service personnel immediately rushed to the spot, removed the LPG cylinders to safety and then plugged the leak, preventing a major accident, they said.
The accident took place near Thuvakudi and Vazhavandhan Kottai, where Indian Oil Corporation's godown is located.
Petroleum products were supplied from the godown by lorry and through pipeline.
