Tin advances on rising demand

Tin prices advanced at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists heavy buying amid rising demand from alloy industries.

Tin prices rose by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,285 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,270.

Lead and copper sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 130 and Rs 367.

However, brass utensils scrap eased by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 285 from weekend's closing level of Rs 289.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy and copper wire bar softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 381, Rs 375 and Rs 409, respectively.
