Tin extends gains on sustained demand

Tin prices gained further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amidst sustained demand from alloy industries.

Meanwhile, nickel, select copper, brass and aluminium prices fell due to subdued offtake from consumer industries.

In global markets, London copper edged higher in early trade, recovering from its lowest in four-and-half years as slowing global manufacturing activity boosted expectations of more stimulus from central banks.

Tin climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,475 from last weekend's level of Rs 1,470.

However, nickel declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,110 from Rs 1,115.

Copper sheet cutting and brass sheet cutting eased by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 436 and Rs 334 from Rs 439 and Rs 337.
 

Copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and aluminium ingots moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 441, Rs 324 and Rs 160 as against Rs 443, Rs 326 and Rs 171 previously.

Lead softened by a Re per kg to Rs 131.
