Tin firms up on pick up in demand

Tin prices firmed up and aluminium ingots marginally recovered at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists buying as well as good demand from alloy industries.

While, select copper, brass and lead dropped further following lower offtake from industrial users.

Tin prices rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 1,408 from Tuesday's close Rs 1,405 and aluminium ingots inched up by a Re per kg to Rs 141.

However, copper armature, copper sheet cuttings, brass sheet cuttings and lead edged down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 347, Rs 341, Rs 278 and Rs 135 as against Rs 349, Rs 343, Rs 280 and Rs 137 yesterday.
 

Copper utensils scrap and brass utensils scrap softened by a Re per kg to Rs 325 and Rs 273 respectively.
