Tin, nickel strengthen on heavy demand

Tin and nickel prices strengthened, while rest all other metals rebounded at the non-ferrous metal market here today on fresh demand from industrial users.

On global front, industrial metal copper held steady in early trade, following a 1 percent bounce in the previous session as investors closed short positions amid a two-day holiday in China that drained volumes from the market.

Tin shot-up by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,150 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,135.

Nickel, copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all climbed by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 835, Rs 413, Rs 407, Rs 378 and Rs 441 from Rs 830, Rs 408, Rs 402, Rs 373 and Rs 436.
 

Brass sheet cutting rose by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 310 as against Rs 306.

Copper armiture, copper sheet cutting and aluminium ingots moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 401, Rs 396 and Rs 140 compared to Rs 398, Rs 393 and 137.

Brass utensil scrap, aluminium utensil scrap and zinc edged-up by a Re per kg to Rs 300, Rs 121 and Rs 160.
