Tin, nickel surge on rising demand, global cues

Tin, nickel prices surged at the non- ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockists buying amid good demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper, brass and aluminium also gained on good offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metals gained as hopes the US Federal Reserve will maintain its massive stimulus programme into next year supported the prices.

Tin and nickel advanced by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,585 and Rs 1,010 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,580 and Rs 1,005.

Brass utensils scrap and aluminium ingots rose by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 345 and Rs 154 from previous level of Rs 342 and Rs 151.
 

Copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 475 from Rs 473.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar all inched up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 500, Rs 481, Rs 455 and Rs 528 respectively.

However, aluminium utensils scrap and zinc both softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 123 and Rs 160.
