Tin, Nickel weaken on poor demand

Tin and Nickel prices slumped further in an otherwise dull non-ferrous metal market here today on heavy stockist selling amidst poor demand from alloy industries.

On the global front, the industrial metal copper slipped in early trade on growing worries that a renewed Greek debt crisis could jolt the euro zone, while trade in general flattened out as demand slowed ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Nickel dipped by Rs 17 per kg to Rs 1,055 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,072 and Tin dropped by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,395 from Rs 1,410.

Zinc also softened by a Re per kg to Rs 173.
 

However, copper scrap heavy inched by a Re per kg to Rs 423.
