Tin surges on sustained demand

Tin prices surged at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid sustained demand from alloy industries.

Nickel, lead and select copper slipped owing to subdued offtake from consuming industries.

Tin rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,265 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,255.

Copper armiture and zinc edged-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 371 and Rs 211.

However,nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 715 from 720.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar and lead softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 381, Rs 350, Rs 409 and Rs 129, respectively.
