Tin, zinc gains in listless trade

Tin and zinc prices gained in an otherwise lacklustre trade at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists buying amid good demand from alloy industries.

However, select copper and nickel slipped following reduced offtake from consumers industries.

Tin rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,170 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,160 and zinc moved up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 160 as against to Rs 155 previously.

Elsewhere, nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 710 as compared to Rs 715 and copper utensils edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 346 as against to Rs 348 previously.
 

Copper scrap heavy and copper armiture softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 371 and Rs 364 respectively.
