The bail plea of sacked IAS officer Tinoo Joshi was today rejected by a local court after she surrendered in connection with a disproportionate assets case and sent to jail for judicial custody.
Additional District and Sessions Judge D P Mishra turned down Tinoo's bail application and asked her to undergo treatment in the jail hospital here, her counsel Pratul Shandilya told PTI.
Tinoo and her husband Arvind Joshi were dismissed from service last year and are wanted in various cases but only Tinoo, who arrived on a wheelchair, surrendered before the court and applied for regular bail, while her husband is still on the run.

Shandilya told the court that if Tinoo did not get medical attention, her ailment could develop into uterus cancer. He said his client was "serious" and suffers from a heart ailment as well.
Opposing the bail plea, the prosecuting agency anti- corruption watchdog Lokayukta (ombudsman) police counsel, L S Kadam said that if the court gave her relief, it would send a wrong signal to the masses about corruption.
Besides, the Lokayukta submitted that if she got the benefit of bail, Tinoo could influence the evidence against her in the case, Bhopal Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Virendra Singh said.
The lower court then rejected her application and fixed the next date of hearing on January 17.
On December 18, the Supreme Court had given three weeks to Tinoo, asking her to apply for regular bail in court by January 13.
