Tirumala hills to have electric buses soon

With an aim to make Tirumala, the famous hill abode of Lord Venkateswara a "zero carbon emission zone", Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) which manages the shrine, is planning to introduce electric buses for the pilgrims to take free short distance travels on the hills.

"TTD has been contemplating to introduce the buses powered by electricity to maintain zero carbon atmospheres on the hills at the earliest" TTD Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao said here.

Presently about a dozen buses run by fuel have been carrying out free transportation facility for pilgrims on the hills.
