Shares of Titan Co Ltd today surged over 8 per cent after the company reported a 13 per cent increase in standalone net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2016.
The stock jumped 8.07 per cent to end at Rs 425.15 on BSE. During the day, it soared 9.55 per cent to Rs 431.
On NSE, shares of the company went up sharply by 8.17 per cent to close at Rs 425.60.
On the volume front, 10.15 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over one crore shares changed hands at NSE during the day.
Tata group firm Titan Co Ltd yesterday reported a 13 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 255.75 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2016.
The company had posted a standalone net profit of Rs 226.15 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
Total income from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 3,925.95 crore as against Rs 3,432.3 crore in the year-ago period, up 14.38 per cent, the company added.
