Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today presented a diamond-studded nose ring to Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeeladri hill here, thereby fulfilling his five-year-old vow.
KCR, during the course of the agitation for a separate state, had vowed to present the nose stud to the Goddess Kanaka Durga besides other offerings to various other gods.
Accordingly, he visited the city this afternoon along with his wife and other members of his family and fulfilled the vow.
The 11.27 gram golden nose stud, the most important decorative ornament of the Goddess, is studded with 57 diamonds of varied hues and also has a carving of Pala Pitta, the Telangana state bird.
KCR was accorded a traditional reception at the Kanakadurga temple by vedic scholars and other authorities and taken into the antaralayam, inner sanctum, for the offering.

The Chief Minister and his spouse conducted a special puja to the Goddess Kanaka Durga, the presiding deity of Vijayawada, before they were given an asirvachnam (vedic blessing) by the temple scholars.
Earlier, AP Water Resources Minister D U Rao received the visiting Chief Minister at the Vijayawada airport at Gannavaram and accompanied him to the temple.
Telangana Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy, MPs K Keshava Rao, B Suman and others were present with the Chief Minister.
Later, KCR and others flew back to Hyderabad in the special aircraft.
