Alleging that the Left Front and the TMC have forged a covert political understanding, state BJP president Rahul Sinha today said the voting by the two parties in favour of the Opposition-sponsored amendment to the President's address yesterday in the Rajya Sabha gave the proof.

"Both parties are trying to fool the masses by showing that they are political opponents in Bengal. But in Delhi they have embraced each other in opposing the BJP-led Union government. Yesterday in the Rajya Sabha too they came together showing their true colours," Sinha said.

The government had yesterday suffered a major embarassment in the Upper House when an amendment moved by the Opposition to the President's Address over corruption and blackmoney was passed.

The amendment was moved by CPI(M) members Sitaram Yechury and P Rajeeve and it was passed through Division of Votes after the government's plea for withdrawal of the step failed.

As the amendment was moved, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy (TMC) mentioned that he too had moved an amendment similar to the one moved by Yechury. He later, withdrew it saying, "already an identical amendment has been passed so I am withdrawing it.
