Causing embarrassment to his party, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh, whose name figured in the Saradha chit fund scam, today said he would not let the scandal die down and demanded a CBI probe.

"Since the allegation has been made against me, I want a CBI probe into the Saradha scam. All those whose names figured in it and those, who were known by Saradha group CMD Sudipta Sen, should be interrogated by CBI," Ghosh said at a programme here.

Speaking in the presence of three TMC MPs Tapas Pal, Shatabdi Roy, Somen Mitra and his wife Sikha Mitra, a dissident TMC MLA, he said that during a recent conversation Saugata Roy, another party MP told him that Saradha controversy was dying down and he has nothing to worry.

"I told him in the presence of Somen Mitra, you may allow it to die down making me a scapegoat, but I will not allow it. I have written to the chief minister saying I have full faith in the state police and detectives. But since the allegation revolved around me, I want a CBI inquiry," he said.

"Those who are trying to shield them keeping me in the front, I will not yield an inch of land to them. Lakhs of shareholders and agents of Saradha group can't say that I told them to raise money for that company," he said.

He alleged that the police did not call those under whose leadership it (scam) has taken place.

Ghosh said that he did not say a single word during his interrogation which might cause embarrassment to the party.

The TMC MP also said he feared for his life if he has to open his mouth in future.
