TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar injured in road mishap

Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was injured when her vehicle collided with a small car near Ashoknagar in North 24 Parganas district this afternoon.

Ghosh Dastidar told PTI the car suddenly popped up infront of her vehicle and there was a collision and she was suffering chest pain though her driver was unharmed.

The Barasat MP said after being attended by a local doctor, she took rest at her home in Madhyamgram and would go for check up at a hospital by tonight.

Additional SP Tarun Halder said the driver of SUV was at fault as it suddenly rammed into the MP's sedan at Guma on Jessore Road.
 

The MP, who was in the front seat of her vehicle, herself headed straight to a local doctor's chamber from the spot, eye witnesses said. The driver of the MP's vehicle was unharmed.

The driver and occupants of the SUV, which hit Ghosh Dastidar's vehicle, escaped but the vehicle was impounded by the police.

TMC sources said that the MP might be taken to a private hospital in the city later in the evening.
