The ruling Trinamool Congress said it was 'quite confident' of a good showing in the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal where polling was held today in nine seats even as opposition CPI(M) accused the party of booth capturing and rigging.

"Trinamool is like a good student whose government has diligently worked hard for three years. So, on the day of of the examination we are relaxed and quite confident," TMC national spokesperson Derek O' Brien told PTI here.

Earlier in the day, Left Front chairman Biman Bose alleged that a large number of booths were captured by TMC cadres and Left party polling agents were driven out of booths.

"There has to be repoll in those booths, so that the people can cast their votes," said Bose, also the state secretary of CPI(M).

Congress candidate Abdul Mannan sat on a dharna in the Serampore LS constituency alleging booth capturing.

The seats where polling was held were Howrah, Hooghly, Serampore, Bolpur, Arambagh, Burdwan East, Burdwan-Durgapur, Birbhum and Uluberia.
