West Bengal Education minister and Trinamool Congress secretary general Partha Chatterjee's wife died this morning following a sudden cardiac arrest.
Babli Chatterjee had been taken to a private hospital yesterday after her health condition deteriorated. She suffered a sudden cardiac arrest there this afternoon and succumbed to it, a statement issued by the medical establishment said.
It was learnt that Chatterjee's wife, who is in her late 50s, had been on a regular follow-up for multiple health issues for the past few years at the private hospital.
"A team of doctors was treating her. She developed a sudden cardiac arrest this afternoon and unfortunately succumbed to it," a senior official of the hospital said.
