Two groups of Trinamool Congress workers clashed today at West Bengal's Kenda area here allegedly to get the tender of an open cast mine.
Police said the two groups, loyal to Ropesh Yadav and Narendra Nath Chakraborty, both 'karmadakshyas' (in-charge) of Burdwan Zilla Parishad, clashed for the tender of Shankarpur open cast mine of Eastern Coal Ltd (ECL).
The clash began in the morning after a heated exchange of words by both sides. 40 to 50 bombs were exploded and 10-12 rounds fired, police said, adding, no one was injured.

The situation was brought under control by the police who rushed to the spot and seven persons belonging to both camps were detained.
When contacted Yadav, he alleged that Chakraborty was using a minister's name to extort money.
"We want the tender to be given to a local person," he said.
Chakraborty, however, could not be contacted.
