TMCP leader arrested for rash driving

A leader of the Trinamool Congress Chatra Parishad (TMCP) was arrested while he was trying to flee after his car hit and injured a pedestrian in southern part of the city today.

Kanishka Mukherjee, General Secretary of the TMCP, was arrested while he was trying to flee after his car broke a guard rail before hitting a taxi and injuring a pedestrian on a bridge midnight last, a police officer said.

A senior officer of Jharkhand Police who was passing by intercepted him and locals informed the police.

The injured was treated at a hospital.
