TMCP leader shot dead in WB

a local TMCP leader was today shot dead in front of his mother at a village in the Chakdaha police station area here, police said.

Sabyasachi Dutta (26) alias Argha, president of the TMCP's Hingnara panchayet area committee, was talking to friends at a Laxmi puja pandal when a youth shot at him in the presence of his mother who had gone there to take him home, the police said.

The police arrested seven persons in connection with the murder after the victim's mother Arati Dutta lodged a complaint at the local police station against 10 persons including her brother and brother's wife.
 

Gouri Dutta, the Nadia district TMC president, ruled out any politics behind the murder and said that it appeared to be the result of a family dispute.
