The Tamil Nadu Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today decided to convene a session of the state assembly from February 17.
The Cabinet meeting today was attended by all the ministers. The Assembly would meet on February 17, for the first session of this year.
Governor K Rosaiah summoned the House to meet at 10.15 am on February 17, Legislative Assembly Secretary A M P Jamaludeen said in an official release here.

This is the second time the Assembly session is convened without AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa, who has been disqualified as a member of the House following the four-year jail term awarded to her by a Benglauru court in a graft case.
During the short session in December last, the Chief Minister's seat remained unoccupied and Panneerselvam took the seat, which he used to occupy as Finance Minister and Leader of the House.
