Chief Post Master General, Tamil Nadu circle, T Murthy has relinquished his office with effect from today as part of taking up the new role in the Postal Services Board.
A 1981 batch Indian Postal Service officer, Murthy would be taking up the role of Member (Operations), Postal Services Board, New Delhi. He would be handling portfolios like business development, mail management and core postal operations, an official release said.
During his tenure in Tamil Nadu, Murthy brought the 470 post offices in the State under core banking solution system. "Tamil Nadu circle has achieved the number one position in procurement of Postal Life Insurance, ePost and Logistics Post in the country", it said.
Prior to joining as Chief Post Master General, Murthy had served at various postal circles in West Bengal, Karnataka, New Delhi and Andhra Pradesh, the release said.
