Tamil Nadu walked away with three points owing to their first innings lead in a Group B Ranji Trophy match against Services that ended in a tame draw on the fourth and final day here today.

In reply to Tamil Nadu's 456 for seven declared, Services were bowled out for 346 in their first innings.

At the close of play today, Tamil Nadu were 117 for five in the second essay here at Palam A Ground, Model Sports Complex.

Services resumed on 245 for five and straight away lost the wicket of one of the last night's batsman Sarabjit Singh for his overnight score of 13.

Even the other overnight batsman, Yashpal Singh's stay at the crease was cut short as he was dismissed for 98 off 190 balls laced with 17 hits to the fence.

With Services reeling at 269 for seven, Suraj Yadav tried to put some resistance by scoring a fine half-century.

However, his efforts of 73-ball 56 with eight fours and two sixes could not save the day for Services as the hosts fell 110 runs short of their opponent's first innings total.

Laxmipathy Balaji was the pick of the bowlers for Tamil Nadu with figures of three for 56.

With no other result possible apart from a draw, Tamil Nadu batsmen did some batting practice in their second innings with Abhinav Mukund top scoring with 33.

While Tamil Nadu finished with three points, Services could earn just one point from this match.

Brief scores:

Tamil Nadu: 456 & 117 for five in 42.1 overs (Abhinav Mukund 33, S Badrinath 29; Shadab Nazar 1/09).

Services 1st innings: 346 (Yashpal Singh 98, Suraj Yadav 56; Laxmipathy Balaji 3/56).
