TN Governor, CM greet Jains

: Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister K Palaniswami and political leaders today extended greetings to Jains on the eve of Mahaveer Jayanthi.

"Lord Mahaveer preached the five principal virtues -- Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya and Aparigraha. Let us resolve to shed away hatred, vanity and greed and refine ourselves to build a peaceful and harmonious society", Rao said.

"On the auspicious occasion of Mahaveer Jayanthi, I extend my hearties greetings and best wishes to all my Jain brethren", he said in a Raj Bhavan release.

Palaniswami in his greetings said Mahavir had preached the importance of loving all living beings and lived a life reflecting the ideal.
 

"I wish all those celebrating his birthday on this occasion", the Chief Minister said.

AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran and PMK Leader S Ramadoss also extended their greetings on the occasion.
