A day after Indian weightlifter Sathish Kumar Sivalingam clinched a gold medal in the 20th Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today greeted the athlete and expressed hoped he would bring more laurels to the country.
"It is a matter of great pride for India, especially Tamil Nadu to see Indian Weightlifter, Satish Sivalingam bagging gold medal on his debut at the 20 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, Scotland," Rosaiah said in a statement here.
The Governor said that it was Sathish's determination and hard work that had fetched him the gold medal.
Conveying his warm felicitations to Satish's parents, he wished that he brings many more such laurels to India.
Rosaiah also conveyed his best wishes to Ravi Katulu, who bagged 'Silver' in the Weightlifting.
