TN Govt brings back George as CP

Three days after the Lok Sabha election results were declared, the Tamil Nadu government today brought back S George as Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, nearly a month after he was transfered out by the Election Commission.

Ahead of the April 24 Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission had shifted George and appointed J K Tripathy to the post.

George, hitherto Additional Director General of Police (Prisons) has been posted as Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, replacing Tripathy, an official release from Home Secretary Apurva Varma said today.

Tripathy has been posted once again as ADGP (Prisons).

Namakkal District Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (headquarters), Greater Chennai, replacing S R Senthil Kumar.
 

Kumar would take over the post of Superintendent of Police in Namakkal District, it said.
