TN Govt come out with guidlines to promote green buildings

Tamil Nadu Government today proposed to lay down adequate guidelines in order to promote green buildings in the state.

Minister for Housing and Urban Development, R Vaithilingam, informed the Assembly that a study will be done in this regard and "due guidelines will be made to encourage green buildings," in the state.

It would also examine the existing sops and provisions, he said replying to the debate on the grants for his department.

Further, as part of a road decongestion proposal, the government will undertake a feasibility study for constructing an elevated road on NH-45, connecting the Arignar Anna International Airport at Thrisulam to Chengalpet, he said.
