The DMDK women's wing today alleged that the state government had neglected the interests and welfare of the people and was interested only in remaining in power.
Instead of taking steps to contain the spread of dengue, the government was busy celebrating the MGR birth centenary, party women's wing president Premalatha Vijayakanth told reporters here.
She alleged that officials were not coming out with the real figure of those affected by dengue and deaths due to the vector borne disease.
Without politicising the issue, DMDK wanted to extend help to control the spread of dengue, she said.
