TN govt invites UK for global investors meet 2015

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam invited the United Kingdom to the 'Global Investors Meet', proposed to be held here next year when Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, United Kingdom, Vince Cable called on him today.

The visit of the official from Britain saw discussions covering several subjects of common interest, an official release said.

Developing a financial services centre here, greater technical cooperation and exchange of information and best practices in the area of Public Private Partnerships for infrastructure, development of non-conventional energy sources and medical tourism were among the subjects discussed.

Also, greater investment from United Kingdom companies in the manufacturing sector in Tamil Nadu was discussed.
 

Besides Panneerselvam, Minister for Industries P Thangamani, Chief Secretary Mohan Verghese Chunkath, Advisor to government Sheela Balakrishnan participated in the meet.

British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Suresh Joshi and Director, British Council Division, Chennai Mei-Kwei Barker were part of the delegation.
