Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and DMK President M Karunanidhi today extended greetings to the working class on the eve of May Day.
"On this day which symbolises the birth of Labour movement let us pay our rich accolades to the dedicated services made by the working community for the growth and development of the economy", Rosaiah said in a Raj Bhavan release.
Jayalalithaa, in her greetings, said "Hardwork leads for a bright future and through their dedication the labour community has been making our Nation proud. I extend my greetings to them", she said.

A department dedicated to the labour community was set up by DMK Government soon after he took over as the Chief Minister in 1969, Karunanidhi said. It was during DMK period a Labour Ministry was set up in Tamil Nadu, he said.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President V Gnanadesikan, CPI Tamil Nadu unit General Secretary D Pandian and PMK Leader Ramadoss also extended their greetings.
