TN Guv, CM Palaniswami extend Ramzan greetings

: Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister K Palaniswami and various political leaders today greeted Muslims on the eve of Ramzan.

"On the auspicious occasion of Ramzan, I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all my Muslim brethren," Rao said in a Raj Bhavan release.

"Holy Quran emphasises on leading a true life and practice of tolerance, forbearance and charity. Let us resolve to follow the ideals preached by Prophet Muhammad to foster peace and promote unity and harmony," he said.

Palaniswami in his greetings, recalled the initiatives taken by the AIADMK government which include supply of 4,900 metric tonnes of rice to over 3,000 mosques for preparation of gruel during the Ramzan season, increasing the pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 among others.
 

"On this occasion, let love and peace prevail and happiness flourish among members of Islam community", Palaniswami said.

AIADMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran, AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction leader and former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, DMDK chief Vijaykanth were among those who extended Ramzan greetings.
