Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today condoled the death of former Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar, saying the Nation lost a "renowned statesman known for his humaneness and simplicity."
"He was a multi-faceted personality, an eminent Parliamentarian who was instrumental in modernization of Parliamentary Library.He had held various high positions and had carved a niche in public life", Rosaiah said, in his condolence message to Sunil Jakhar, son of the late leader.
Balram Jakhar brought fame to India by being elected as the first Asian to be the Chairman of Commonwealth Parliamentarian Executive Forum and dedicated his life for the cause of "farming community", he said.

"The nation has lost a renowned statesman, who was known for his humaneness and simplicity. His death is an irreparable loss to the Nation and to the people of Punjab in particular," he said.
