TN Guv inaugurates Thyagaraja Aradhana festival

Rosaiah said Thyagaraja, a great devotee of Lord Ram, was born to teach human beings the path of salvation through music and 'Rambhakthi'.

He was a practical philosopher who dedicated his entire life to the practice of 'Nadopasana', he said.

The governor also praised the efforts of Bangalore Nagarathinam ammal, in bringing Thyagaraja's 'krithis' (compositions) to the notice of the world.

Those who participated in the function included Union Minister G K Vasan, who is also Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Thiagaraja Bramotsava Sabha.

Thyagaraja, one of the greatest composers of Carnatic music or classical South Indian music, was born in 1767 at Thiruvaiyaru. He composed thousands of devotional compositions, most in praise of Lord Ram
